In support of the historic and beautiful Myakka River, three classical musicians have adopted this river in spirit. These musicians, the Myakka River Piano Trio, first performed together at the Moon over Myakka Concert Series at the Myakka River State Park in Sarasota, Florida. In a benefit performance for the “Friends of Myakka,” they delighted the audience with a diverse program, from classical to gypsy/folk arrangements, earning a rousing ovation.

The Myakka River Piano Trio was invited to make its debut performance on the 2004 Encore Series at the Palladium Theater in St. Petersburg, and continues to perform in Florida. Audiences enjoy its repertoire, ranging from great Classic and Romantic standards to music by the best composers of the 20th and 21st centuries. In its performances, the Myakka River Piano Trio often includes music written by living composers and enjoys performing music that “crosses over,” mixing classical with folk and jazz elements.
